ART PLAY
Art is one of the things that too many people take far too seriously and in so
doing they sever the connection to their innate creativity. The very act of
being alive is a creative act. We create ourselves anew each day. When we
take this process off auto pilot and restore a sense of purpose,
experimentation and playfulness to our lives we naturally invite joy and
vitality back in. Playing with art is not about producing a product or even a
painting or sculpture you would display in your home. It is about using the
expressive arts to tap into a deeper truth about ourselves. Art Play takes us
back to the child we were who knew how to laugh, skip, pretend and to
naturally be. I'm not going to teach you to paint or draw, but I will
convince you to pick up a crayon and show me what you feel. It is one of
the most direct routes to the happiness and joy we may think is lost to us.
