Laughter, An Antidote to Workplace Stress:
It is important to be serious about our work but learning how to
add a taste of lightheartedness back into our work day not only
makes work more enjoyable, it strengthens relationships,
enhances creativity and reduces sick time. I am serious about
laughter and by no means a clown, which strikes the right chord
with professionals. During this hour long workshop we spend the
first half discussing the effects of laughter on the body: how it
lowers our blood-pressure, improves digestion, stimulates the
release of serotonin and other healing hormones. We also
discuss the effects of laughter on the mind: how it disrupts a
negative emotion, why laughter is so engaging, why we feel good
about those we laugh with and the appropriateness of laughter in
the workplace. The second half of the workshop is devoted to
laughter exercises which are the vehicle by which we learn to
laugh for no reason.
Laughter Yoga Leader Certification:
The 2 Day Intensive Training Course Includes: Learning the
physical, mental & emotional benefits of laughter, How to laugh
without humor and how to teach others to do so, The history of
Laughter Yoga, Starting & running laughter clubs, How to market
your services, Techniques for special groups (children, seniors
and more), Laughter boosting techniques, How to laugh alone.
After successful completion of this course you are qualified as a
Certified Laughter Yoga Leader (CLYL), an internationally
recognized qualification. You can lead Laughter Yoga sessions
in social clubs, yoga & fitness centers, schools, senior centers,
in the corporate workplace and offer public seminars.
Levity Infusion:
This workshop is devoted to silliness and can run from one hour
to a full day. We discuss the intangibles of laughter, happiness,
levity, buoyancy and often how these principles relate to the
group that has gathered. When we have more than one hour, art
play is incorporated into the day and using laughter as a
springboard we delve into a creative place that is
unpredictable. Creative projects may include visual arts,
improvisation, free writing, field trips and other childlike activities.
This workshop can be customized to a group or to an individual
and can be taught as a series.
Laughter Happy Hour:
Quite often taught as a series on a weekly or monthly basis,
Laughter Happy Hour is all about the laughing, with minimal
teaching on the philosophy behind the practice. This class is
highly aerobic, energetic and involves lots of movement. Each
class is unique and often includes collections of seasonal or
themed laughter.
Holistic Ho, Ho, Ha, Ha, Ha:
Focusing on the healing properties of laughter, reinforcing the
laws of
attraction and the practice of nurturing what isn't broken I use my
additional training in Reiki to lead a one hour laughter workshop
compatible with the healing arts. This is the workshop has been
taught at The Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center, in hospice
and with those in major crisis and features a gentle approach,
which can be taught entirely seated. Sometimes we laugh and we
cry since the practice stimulates a grounded emotional release.
Excellent for those in physical or emotional pain.
Laughter, Art and Aliveness:
Gain a fresh perspective on accessing your vitality, creativity and
joy. Using laughter exercises, play and silly art games we will
spend half a day exploring this mysterious place where everything
colorful, ridiculous, juicy and enjoyable puddles at our feet,
feeding our lives on all levels.
Summer Camp for Grown-Up People:
When I was a kid my Mom would enroll us in summer day camp.
We would pack a sack lunch and she would drive us out to some
place in the country that had interesting buildings and
enthusiastic people. We would sing songs, explore nature, try
something new, make friends, make art and return home at the
end of the day exhausted, a little dusty, humming, with stories to
tell and a creation to show off. It has been my dream to create
such a space for the child that still lives inside our grown-up self.
In the course of our three days together at the Capitan
Ponderosa (or your retreat space) we will play with art, writing,
laughing, exploring and sharing. The focus will be on fun, whimsy
and finding a way back to our creative selves, that crave our
attention and our permission. Bring yourself, a sack lunch, and if
you have a journal bring it. I will provide all materials and soda
pop chilled on ice.
